AUGUST W. JOST

August W. Jost, 87, of 1319 N. 4th St. died today in Mercy Hospital.
Mass of the Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday in St. Irenaeus Church with the Rev. James Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Sunday with a Christian wake at 7:30 p.m. in Pape Funeral home.

Pallbearers, all grandsons, will be Larry, Gary, Donald and Thomas Farrell, Randy and Chris Jost.

He was born April 30, 1893 in Clinton County to William and Josephine Scheper Jost. He married Mayme Wagemester Oct 3, 1922 in Clinton. He was a retired farmer, World War I veteran and member of St. Irenaeus Church, Loyal Order of Moose and American Legion Post 190.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Farrell of Preston and Mrs. Phil (Lorraine) Lundquist of Clinton; three sons, Edwin of Bryant, Arnold and Robert, both of Clinton, 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a brother, Frank Jost of Clinton.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son in infancy, a brother and a sister.
