MRS. SOPHIE M. RANICKE PESTKA

CLINTON:

Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church for Mrs. Sophie M. Pestka, 85, of 132 N. 5th St., who died Saturday at Mercy Hospital.

The Rev. E. J. Weeg will officiate. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation will be until 9 p. m. today at Paper Funeral Home where a Daughters of Isabella rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and a parish rosary recited at 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Theodore Pestka Jr., Brad Pestka, Roy Pestka, Jerry Pestka, Richard Droste and Allen Hahn.

Mrs. Pestka was born May 27, 1894 in Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ranicke. She married Max Pestka April 26, 1914, in Chicago. He died in 1949. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Altar and rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella and Catholic Order of Forresters.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. William (Charlotte) Cox and Mrs. Werner (Elizabeth) Droste, both of Clinton, and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Sipes of Tulsa, Okla.; three sons, Theodore and Joseph, both of Clinton, and Robert of Wyoming, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lottie Allison of Skokie, Ill.; and a brother, Tony of Cicero, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.
