Rock Island Argus Friday May 5, 1939 p 4 Miss Amy Ann Coyne, 73, of 415 Nineteenth street, the last surviving member of a family of Rock Island pioneers, died at 6:45 o'clock last evening in St. Anthony's hospital. Death was attributed to asthma and heart disease. She had been in the hospital 19 days. The body was taken to the Wendt funeral home, Moline, and was to be returned this evening to the residence. Funeral services will be at 3:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the residence. The Rev. Frederick J. Rolf, pastor of Evangelical Church of Peace will officiate. Burial will be in Chippiannock cemetery. Pallbearers will be Walter Mielly of Chicago, and Herman J. Brocker, L.H. Salzmann, Harry Brady, John W. Lucas and Thomas J. Schindler, all of Rock Island. Miss Coyne was born in Rock Island in September, 1865, a daughter of the late John and Marguerite Coyne. She was graduated from Rock Island high school. She resided with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Josiah L. Rice, in Clinton, Iowa for 15 years, returning to Rock Island upon the death of her parents. Mr. Rice died April 8 of this year in Chicago and was buried in Chippiannock cemetery. For the past 11 years, Miss Coyne had spent the winters with a niece, Mrs. Walter Mielly, in Chicago. She returned her April 11. The survivors are the niece, Mrs. Mielly, a grandnephew and grandniece, Ralph and Marian Agate of Lafayette, Ind. Two brothers and three sisters preceded Miss Coyne in death.
