Norma J. Jacobs, 83, of Clinton, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus – Clinton.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11:00am, Friday, May 27, 2011 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00am to the service time at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Norma Jeanne Ketelsen was born on December 8, 1927 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Edward Thomas and Alice Loretta (Hansen) Ketelsen. She married Earl Jacobs on February 3, 1951 in Clinton; he died March 15, 1988.

Norma was a 1945 graduate of Clinton High School. She was a homemaker and also worked at J.Q. Jefferies.

Norma was a former member of Saint Mary’s Parish. She enjoyed spending time at the Alverno visiting her friends and making new ones. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Norma is survived by a daughter: Mary Kathleen (Kathi) Cavanagh of Maple Grove, Minnesota and her children: Ann Marie Cavanagh and Matthew Jacobs Cavanagh; a son: David Earl (Laurel) Jacobs of Palm Springs, California and their children: Conrad Evan Negron, Patrick Donald Jacobs, and Thomas Stewart Jacobs, and son: Don Patrick (Gerilyn) Jacobs of Clinton, Iowa and their children: Andrew Earl Jacobs and Caitlyn Cecelia Jacobs and a sister: Marian Green of Douglasville, Georgia.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, and one son.
