Clinton, Iowa - Thomas F. “Tom” Craig age 71 of Clinton died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Mercy Living Center North in Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 1st at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home and from 10:00 A.M. until service time Friday, also at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow with burial at a later date.

Tom was born in Clinton on October 29, 1939, the son of Harry Franklin and Mary Emma (Tallet) Craig. He graduated from Clinton High School. Tom served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and later with the U.S. Army Reserves. He married Sharon Sorenson on June 10, 1978 in Clinton.

Tom was employed with the Clinton M.T.A. for 26 years, retiring in 2002. He had also worked at E.I. DuPont, as a truck driver and at the Savanna Army Depot before joining the M.T.A. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles #705 and the AMVETS Post #28. He followed the Chicago Bears and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Tom is survived by his wife Sharon; three sons, Thomas (Sharon) Craig, Jr. of Clinton, Robert (Kristi) Craig of Lufkin, TX and Timothy (Carla) Craig of Humble, TX; three step-sons, Robert “Bob” (Sharon) Sorenson of Brownsburg, IN, Douglas Sorenson of Clinton and Mark Sorenson of Davenport; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild and two sisters, Harriet Scott of Volga, IA and Mary Craig of Dyersville. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Marilyn Ruth Craig, Imogene Schepler and Lola Schroeder. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
