Clinton, Iowa - Margaret Mary Frett age 87 of Clinton died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 11th at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Pape Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:30 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her five grandsons.

Margaret Mary was born in Clinton on June 28, 1923, the daughter of Raymond M. and Josephine A. (Owens) McDevitt. She was educated in a one-room school house in Charlotte and attended Elvira High School. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1941. After high school Margaret Mary attended Scovill Business College. She worked at the Climax Engine Company and Rich Toy Factory prior to her marriage. Margaret Mary married Vincent N. Frett on October 9, 1948 in St. Mary’s Church. Vincent died on March 28, 2005.

Margaret Mary was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and Beta-Sigma-Phi. She had served as treasurer of the Clinton Right to Life and enjoyed a monthly card club with her sister and special friends. She was a member of the former St. Mary’s Parish. Margaret Mary was devoted to her family and her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and cherished her memories of her trip to Ireland.

Margaret Mary is survived by five children; Jerome (Mary Lou) Frett of Westmont, IL, Mary Ann (Mark) Rauter of Rockford, IL, Kathleen (Thomas) Cotton of Clinton, Marcia (Foster) Meinert of Davenport and Maureen (Bart) Vander Bleek of Clinton; 12 grandchildren, Amy, Brian, Jennifer, Nicholas, Christopher, Sara, Amanda, Ronee’, Jeremy, Ellen, Nathan and Erin; 15 great grandchildren, Jane, Jillian, Patrick, Liam, Grace, Olivia, Hadley, Chloe, Addison, Amanda, Margaret, Thomas, Amanda, Sophie and Meghan; a great-great- grand daughter, Ireland; a sister, Therese Donahue of Clinton and a brother, Al McDevitt of Fairview Park, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Benjamin; two brothers, Leon and Patrick McDevitt and a sister, Alice Dong.
