Grand Mound, Iowa - Mary C. Conroy age 80 of Grand Mound, IA, died Thursday May 26, 2011 at Mercy Living Center South, Clinton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Saturday May 28th at St. Phillip & James Catholic Church in Grand Mound. Visitation will be held Saturday 9:00 am until the service hour at the church. The Pape Funeral Home, Clinton is assisting the family. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Grand Mound. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

She was born on April 6, 1931 in Clinton, the daughter of Melvin and Esther (McManus) Martin. She married Daniel Conroy on 1955 in Grand Mound, he died in 1992. She worked as a secretary for Connecticut General Life Ins. Co. in Indianapolis for over 17 years, retiring in 1988. She moved to Grand Mound in 1997, where she had worked at Happy Joe’s in Dewitt for several years. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, traveling, and visiting with family and friends.

Mary is survived by her three children, Colleen Conroy of Dewitt, Daniel P. (Tomi) Conroy and Timothy A. Conroy both of Indianapolis, IN; a granddaughter, Gina Farinacci of Dewitt; two sisters, Deloris Carleton of Davenport and Essie (Marv) Flammang of Grand Mound; two brothers, Donald (Ginny) Martin of Tampa, FL and William Martin of Calamus; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother.
