Clinton, Iowa - Rae G. Eggers age 76 of Clinton, died Wednesday May 17, 2011 at Mercy North Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Friday May 19th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday 4 – 7 pm at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bryant. Rae was born on April 16, 1935 in Miles, IA, the son of Ernest and Lulu (Rogers) Eggers. He married Kathleen Wagemaster on April 24, 1971 in Clinton. Rae worked as a bartender at Warren’s Tavern, Clinton and later he and his wife owned and operated Doyle’s Tavern on Main Ave. for over 10 years. He enjoyed coin collecting and gambling.

Rae is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Clinton; four step-children, Philip Scheckel of Clinton, Cecelia (Jon) Sikkema of Fulton, IL, Debra (Timothy) Leslie of Clinton, and Angela (Brian) Frasier of Morrison, IL; 8 step-grandchildren and 2 step-greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Joy Jarrett of Coralville, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
