Grace K. Volquardsen, 74, of Clinton, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Mercy North, Clinton. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. She donated her body to the University of Iowa. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory assited the family with arrangements.

Grace was born May 31, 1936 in Clinton, the daughter of Raymond Charles and Georgia Wilma (Hendricks) Orte. She married Harold Volquardsen on January 9, 1976 in Sioux Falls, SD. She was employed at Collis Company from 1973 to 1990.

Survivors include her husband, Harold of Clinton; children, Georganna Craig of Clinton, Alma Harris of Arkansas, Robert Douglas VanSkike of Arizona, Richard James VanSkike of Clinton, Victoria Ruth White of Gothenburg, NE and Ammanda VonMinnick of Clinton, whom she raised; seven grandchildren; and brothers, Marvin Ray Orte of Iowa City and James Delbert Taylor, Jr. of Clinton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, George VanSkike, Jr., sister, Pat and her great grandchild, Cheyenne Jaden Raab.
