Clinton, Iowa - Helen C. Baugher age 89 of Clinton, died Monday May 2, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 7th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday 9:00 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Helen was born on Nov. 19, 1921 in Bettendorf, IA, the daughter of Oscar and Louise (Asmus) Sweely. She married Elmer Peters in 1940 in Quincy, IL, he died in 1953. She then married Carl Sparlin in 1959 in Clinton, he died in 1961. She later married Don Baugher in 1978 in Clinton, he died in 1981. She worked at the Clinton Garment Company in shipping and packaging for over 26 years, retiring in 1980. At the Farmer’s Market she was know as the “Pickle Lady”. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, and traveling.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Keith) Harms of Spencer, IA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters, five brothers, and two sisters.
