Bryant, Iowa - Lawrence J. “Larry” Heiar age 64, of Bryant, Died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at his home. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, April 14th at Prince of Peace Church, Clinton. Visitation will be held at Prince of Peace on Wednesday, April 13th from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. Casket bearers will be Alan Behrens, Dave Deke, Bill Andresen, Lynn Andresen, Bill Heiar, Jim Roling, Larry Anderson, Jim Determan, Larry and Bruce Rickertsen, Glen Banowetz, David Ketelsen and Dave Roling. Honorary casket bearers will be his grandchildren and great grandson. Following the services cremation rites will be accorded. The family is being assisted by the Pape Funeral Home.

Larry was born in Clinton on August 25, 1946, the son of Gerald and June Scalla Heiar. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1965. He married Gloria Andresen on August 25, 1965 at St. Joseph’s Church, DeWitt. Larry was an extrusion operator E.I. DuPont retiring in 2007 after 42 years. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Charlotte Volunteer Fire Department, Goose Lake Lions Club and the Fulton County Club. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, boating and vacationing.

Larry is survived by his wife Gloria; three children, Tim (Megan) Heiar of Charlotte, NC, Lisa (Matt) Roth of Clinton and Tracy (Greg) Ellis of Clinton; eight grandchildren, Brandon and Alyssa Roth, Bridget Roth McDonald, Jacob and Josh Ellis and Brady, Ben and Maddie Heiar; a great grandson, Kale McDonald and a brother William (Marilyn) Heiar of Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilou Roling. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice.
