Marjorie J. Hansen, 85, of Camanche died Friday, April 15, 2011 at home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00PM Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Private burial of the cremains will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Marjorie Jane Nielsen was born on August 26, 1925 in Clinton, the daughter of Arthur and Olga (Rassmussen) Nielsen. She married Alvin Hansen on March 25, 1947 in Clinton; he died on December 25, 1993.

She was a homemaker and did some clerical work. She and Al loved purchasing and refurbishing antiques, which turned into their business Hansen Antiques which they owned and operated for many years in Camanche.

Marjorie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Camanche where she was a charter member and held many other positions.

She enjoyed gardening and traveling the globe with Al.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Kelly Lette and Trinity (Dawn) Hansen of Camanche; one sister, Bette L. Smith of Camanche; two nephews, Ronald Smith of Camanche and Larry (Charlene) Smith of Camanche; one neice, Sharon Martin of Council Bluffs, and many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Tony Hansen.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
