Stanley L. Kelsay, 93 of Clinton, died Thursday, April 6, 2011 at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Clinton AMVETS Post #28. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00am to the service time at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Carey Fowler, Rory O’Neal, Mark Kelsay, Rick Kelsay, Ben Laughlin, and Joe Perino. There will be a Rose Croix service in conjunction with the funeral service. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Stanley Leo Kelsay was born on November 2, 1917 in Lebenon, Missouri, the son of Andrew and Ethel (Paul) Kelsay. He was a 1937 graduate from Oakland High School, Oakland, Iowa. He married Gladys Welsh on July 1, 1937 in Papillion, Nebraska. He later served in the United States Army from 1940-1941.

He was a district manager with National By-Products for 30 years retiring in 1978.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clinton where he served in the Men’s Group, KAABA Shrine, Clinton Scottish Rite Bodies, Western Star Lodge #100, White Shrine, Izaak Walton League, the Eagles Club, the Clinton Moose Lodge, volunteered with SCORE, Knights of Pythiest, and served on the Clinton Municipal Dock commission.

He is survived by his wife: Gladys living with her daughter in Kansas City, Missouri; one son: Phillip (Emily) Kelsay of Camanche, one daughter: Pamella (Robert) Laughlin of Kansas City, Missouri; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren one sister: Maxine Dennis of Atlanta, Georgia

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and one great-grandson.

Memorials can be made to the Alverno Health Care Facility.
