Goose Lake, Iowa - Pearl Schroeder age 82 of Goose Lake died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Eagle Point Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, March 25th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charlotte. The Rev. Terry Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Pape Funeral Home and from 9:30 A.M. until the service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Brian and Neal Rickertsen, Derek Schroeder, Allen Roseland, and Dale and Dennis Schroeder. Honorary casket bearers will be Austin Rickertsen, Dwaine and Doug Schroeder, Pat Burke, Dan Edgington and Evan Havel.
Pearl was born on the family farm in Scott County on September 27, 1928, the daughter of Marcus and Anna Gronewold Roseland. She married Ernest “Ernie” Schroeder on January 23, 1949 in Elvira. Ernie died on August 22, 1989. Pearl had worked at the Clinton Garment Factory prior to her marriage. After her marriage she and her husband and son farmed near Goose Lake. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Taking care of her family was her life.
Pearl is survived by three children; Gloria Schroeder of DeWitt, David (Jo) Schroeder of Goose Lake and Joyce (Kenneth) Rickertsen of Clinton; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Lucille Schroeder of DeWitt, Marlene (Bob) Lilly of Clinton and Elvera Burke of Clinton; two brothers, her twin Earl (Jean) Roseland of Clinton and Wesley Roseland of DeWitt; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Roseland of DeWitt and Darlene Schroeder of Clinton and a brother-in-law, Raeburn Gustafson of Low Moor. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Arlene Roseland and Alta Gustafson and a brother Malvin Roseland. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
