Clinton, Iowa - Phyllis B. Stuit age 87 of Clinton died Friday March 4th, 2011 at Mercy North Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday March 8th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday 10:00 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be friends of her son, Jim Stuit. Phyllis was born on May 3, 1923 in Clinton, the daughter of Earl and Edith (Turner) Dahl. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1941. She married Harry Stuit on Dec. 21, 1942 in Clinton; he died in 2007. Phyllis worked as a secretary for Central Steel & Tube Co. from 1948-1980 and for Restaurant Resources for the Golonvaux’s from 1981-1998, where she retired. She enjoyed golfing and bowling, where she was an instructor for the Junior Bowling League in the 1960’s.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Jim Stuit of Low Moor; two brothers, Jack E. Dahl of Clinton and Earl (Teresa) Dahl of California; several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Marie Sturtz and housekeeper, LaVerna O’Neal. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and a sister.
