Viola (Mrs. Ivan "Ike") Schrader, 89, Low Moor, died early Friday morning, February 25, 2011 at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

She was born November 13, 1921 in Dixon to Hans and Emma (Schnoor) Dettman. Viola graduated from Rock Rapids High School. She married Ivan Schrader, June 28, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. The couple farmed at rural Low Moor. Viola worked as an administrative assistant for R. A. Brown at Iowa Mutual Insurance, DeWitt, for over 25 years. Ike preceded Viola in death April 26, 1995.

Viola was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. She enjoyed playing BINGO and took great pride in her farm ownership. Surviving are a sister, Erma Deitrich, Rock Island; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Viola in death in addition to her husband, were her parents, sisters, Martha Hayne, Ella Dettman, Edna Bach and Luetta Ohlerich, and brothers, Arnold Dettman and Leonard Dettman.

The family will receive friends at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2010. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Church. The Rev. Ron Huber will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Pallbearers will be Danny Nielsen, Allan Anderson, Charlie Schrader, Dennis Schrader, Roger Hill and Charles Watkins. Honorary pallbearers will be William Homrighausen, John Seifert, Robert Brown, Dennis Mumm, Glen Underwood and Kim Haring.
