Harry H. StaufferHarry H. Stauffer, 85, of 1925 Garfield St., died Sunday in Mercy Hospital. Friends may call at the Pape funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, the hour to be announced later.
Mr. Stauffer ws born March 12, 1878 in Polo, Ill., the son of Jacob and Elizabeth Pope Stauffer. He was married to Matilda Lytle, Dec. 15, 1904 in Davenport.
He is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Faye) Pease of Fulton, Ill.; Mrs. Wayne (Dorthy) Anderson, of Clinton; Mrs. Michael (Darlene) Wolfe, of Clinton; seven sons, Harry of Westgate, Calif; William of Atlanta, Ga; Karl, John, Richard, and David all of Clinton; one sister, Mrs Anna Blanchard of Clinton; 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers, and two sons, and one daughter in infancy.
