Miriam A. Pettit, 85, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Northwest Medical Center, Tucson, Arizona.

Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00-6:00pm at the funeral home.

Miriam Arlene Langham was born on September 25, 1925 in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Roy F. and Alice (Weeman) Langham. She married Carrol A. Pettit on January 7, 1944 in San Francisco, California; he died on November 10, 1983.

Miriam was a graduate of Clinton High School in 1943.

Miriam was employed with John Van Allen Department Store was a buyer then Petersen Harned Von Maur where she was the store manager for 33 years until retiring in 1979.

Miriam was a former member of the First United Methodist Church, Clinton, Iowa; Women United Methodist Church of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and the Women’s Club in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Miriam is survived by two brothers: William (Mary) Langham of Tucson, Arizona, Robert (Michelle) Langham of Laguna Niguel, California; sister-in-law: Helen Fisher of Danville, Illinois, and several niece and nephews.

Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Langham and Alice Bandy, and her husband.

Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Clinton.
