Arthur P. Sheller, 81, of Clinton, died, Tuesday, February 01, 2011 at Mercy Living Center-South.

Visitation will be 3-6 pm, Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes. After the visitation Arthur’s body will be donated to the University Of Iowa College Of Medicine for scientific purposes.

Arthur Paul Sheller was born June 28, 1929 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Paul Ambrose and Erma Marie (Shadle) Sheller. He married June Alva Swanson on February 22, 1947 in Iowa City, Iowa.

He was a 1947 graduate of Clinton High School. He was a laboratory technician at Clinton Corn Processing for 35 years retiring in 1982. He also worked at Domestic Plumbing for 6 years and for the city as an environmental officer for 5 years. Formerly he refereed high school football in the surrounding areas and helped as a diving coach for the Clinton High School Swim Team.

Arthur was a member of the First Baptist Church, Emmulation Lodge # 255, and Clinton Scottish Rite Bodies. He loved the outdoors, was an active Walleye fisherman, loved the river, and he especially loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, June; 4 children: Linda (Terry) Huffman of Andover, NJ; Steven (Ann) Sheller of Clinton; Jane (formerly Meyer) Sheller of West Branch, Iowa; and Scott (Patti) Sheller of Mason City, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and grandson: Morgan Meyer.
