Tiny Hackney

Tiny G. Hackney, 97, of Low Moor, died, Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus in Clinton.

Funeral Services will be 12:00 pm, Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Low Moor United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 am to the service time at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory is handling the arrangements.

Tiny George Hackney was born December 24, 1913 is Dows, Iowa, the daughter of George and Madge (Smart) LaRue. She married Lindsey Dean Hackney on January 8, 1932 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. They were married for 71 years when Dean died on February 15, 2006.

She was a 1931 graduate of Pope Joy High School and was a homemaker.

Tiny was a wonderful mother to all and she loved and cared for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was a 50 year member of Low Moor United Methodist Church.

She is survived by 5 children: Dean (Mary Kay) Hackney of Clinton; Juanita (Robert) Brissey of Dubuque, Iowa; Joy (David) McCulla of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Joe Hackney of Low Moor; and Tina (Randall) Roling of Miles; 9 grandchildren: Jeffrey (Teresa) Hackney; Bradley (Lisa) Brissey; Susan (Daniel) Knuth; Ryan (Eraka) McCulla; Genevieve Wright; Matthew (Tracie) McCulla; Tonya (Jeremiah Jackson) Roling; Danyel (Chad) Chrest; and Ian (Elyse) McCulla; grand daughter-in-law: DeShannon Brissey; 16 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and three sisters: Mina Petersen of Denver, Colorado; Donna Rohweder of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and Bonna Burow of Sun City, Arizona.

Tiny was preceded in death by her husband; 2 children, Ramona and George Hackney; grandson, Robb Brissey; 1 brother; and 3 sisters.

Memorial may be made to the Low Moor United Methodist Church.
