Marjorie Graves
Marjorie “Marge” Anderson-Graves, age 96, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away early Saturday morning, January 8, 2011 at Moberly Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Moberly, MO.
Marge was born February 28, 1914 in Atlantic, Iowa. She graduated from Atlantic High School in 1932. On March 10, 1935 she married Donald B Graves. They were parents of one daughter, the late Sharon Boardsen-Smith of Clinton. Marge retired as a talented seamstress from the Clinton Garment Company. She enjoyed entertaining her 3 grandchildren with camping and fishing trips. Marge and Donald spent their retired years traveling to 48 of our 50 states in their camper. Marge served as President of the Clinton Red Cross during the 1965 flood. She was very active in Clinton Community volunteer programs. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2005. Donald has since passed.
Their grandchildren are: Danny Boardsen II of Moberly, MO, Becky Boardsen of Boulder, CO and the late Brad Boardsen. Great-grandchildren include Dana Boardsen, Kurtis Boardsen, Kelsey Boardsen, Aleigha Yeager and Sidney Yeager.
Visitation commences on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10:00am at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 11:00am. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “CCSD Education Foundation”, to be contributed to the Dan Boardsen Memorial Scholarship Fund, located at 600 South 4th Street, Clinton, Iowa 52732.
