Clinton, Iowa - Harold D. Gardner age 92 of Clinton, died Saturday Feb. 12, 2011 at the Alverno Health Care Facility. A memorial service will be held 5:00 pm Thursday Feb. 17th at the Clinton Church of Christ, where a potluck dinner will be served following the funeral service. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Harold was born on April 13, 1918 in Newell, IA, the son of Herbert and Ida (DeWitt) Gardner. He married Emma Wheeler on Aug. 18, 1940 in Sac City, IA; she died in 2009. He worked at Clinton Corn Processing in bookkeeping for over 21 years. He also was a certified public accountant. He was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ, where he was an elder and deacon of the church. He volunteered at the Rock River Christian Camp in Polo, IL.

Harold is survived by his son, Warren Gardner of Cave Creek, AZ; a brother, Walter Gardner of Burlington, NC; his close friends, Eldo and Peggy Krebs of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Carol Lynch of Des Moines, IA; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and four sisters.
