Clinton, Iowa - Marilyn J. Schultheis, age 78, of Clinton, completed her time on earth and entered her eternal journey Friday Feb. 11, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17th at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clinton. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home and Thursday 9:30 a.m. until the service hour at the church. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Jacob Schultheis, Toren Schultheis, Kipp Ketelsen, Jay Strief, David Ludin, and Joshua Kennedy. Memorials may be given to Relay For Life of Clinton. Marilyn Janice Farwell was born on Nov. 16, 1932, in Clinton, the daughter of Robert and Edith (Schneider) Farwell. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1950. She married Fred Schultheis on Nov. 15, 1953, in Dixon, IL. Marilyn was above all a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was also a homemaker, baby-sitter, and she worked at U-Pump Gas Station in Clinton as an assistant manager for many years. She was a loyal member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She loved bowling and the many friendships she developed through bowling over the years. She was secretary and treasurer for the Saturday Nite Mixed League and Tuesday Nite Plazettes Ladies League for over 30 years. She loved spending time with her family. Her love and devotion for her children and grandchildren will be dearly missed. Marilyn enjoyed having coffee with her friends, Sandy Bousman and Dollie Reed. She was an avid Chicago Cub and Iowa Hawkeye fan. She would occasionally sneak away to the casino and was very eager to share her winnings with her children and grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Fred Schultheis of Clinton; five children, Dan (Margaret) Schultheis of Chana, IL, Olinda (John) Pataska of Springbrook, IA, Wally (Jan) Schultheis of Clinton, Tim (Carie) Schultheis of Clinton, and Mark (Debra) Schultheis of Baxter, IA; her grandchildren Tanya, Danielle, and Misty Schultheis; Jessica Strief, Jennifer Ludin, Kipp Ketelsen, Jillian Kennedy; Marie and Jacob Schultheis; Marquel and Paiton Schultheis; and Toren and Bryn Schultheis; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Roberta Gee of Clinton; two brothers, Robert Farwell of Clinton and Richard (Bea) Farwell of Fulton, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, George Brabender, a son, David Scott Schultheis, and a sister, Beverly Wells.
