Lucille Carter

Lucille Jane Carter, 78, of Marshalltown, IA and formerly of Clinton, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Iowa Veterans Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11a.m. at Lemke Funeral Home – South Chapel with the Pastor Keith Martin officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Lucille was born August 14, 1932, in Swifton, Arkansas, to Willie and Mary (Holder) Harvey. She married Lee Carter, Sr., on July 1, 1951, in Clinton, Iowa. Lucille was a homemaker. She belonged to the Bald Eagles (National Campers and Hikers Association) and the Assembly of God Church . Lucille loved to teach kids at Sunday school.

Lucille is survived by 5 daughters, Linda Baclet, Massachusettes; Mary (Michael) Mull, Brownsville, TX; Marcia (Richard) Allen, Marshalltown, IA; Diana Carter, Marshalltown, IA; Susan Carter, Marshalltown, IA; 1 son, Joseph (Rhonda) Baclet, Clinton; 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Thelma (Glen) Carey, Davenport; Marie Volts, Arizona, Carol (Larry) Schyvincht, Arizona; 3 brothers, Henry (Helen) Harvey, Moline, IL; David (Connie) Harvey, Texas; Kenny Harvey, Davenport; and 2 honorary children, Lonnie and Nora Perry of Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be: Lester Anderson, Shane Johnson, Timmy Carter, Steve Johnson, Jason Carter and Philip Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jacob Anderson, Devante Martin, Jordon Anderson and Caleb Anderson. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Lee, 1 sister and 3 brothers. Memorials are to be established.
