Dorothy (Ruth) Stamp, 86, of Boutwell’s Landing Nursing Home in Stillwater, MN, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010. Funeral services will be Friday, September 17, 2010, at 10a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Elvira with Pastor Jane Rothman officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Elvira. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Dorothy was born September 23, 1923, in Plankinton, SD. to Albert Thomas and Leila Belle (Morehead) Williams. She attended Stickney High School and graduated in 1941. Dorothy married Cyril F. Stamp on April 6, 1944, in Manhatten, KS. She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm for 19 years in Jackson County and then 26 years near Elvira in Clinton County retiring in 1989. Dorothy was an active member of Elvira Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton County Porkettes, and enjoyed cooking and playing cards.

Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Donna (David) Termont, of Woodbury, MN; 2 grandchildren, Sarah (Nathan) Ledbetter, Stillwater, MN; Michael (Kari) Termont, Bemidji, MN; 6 great grandchildren, Abby, William, Hannah and Karris Termont and Tyler and Beth Ledbetter; 2 brothers, John (Fern) Williams, Geneseo, IL; and Gerald (Dorothy) Williams, Harrisonburg, VA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Tom and 1 brother. Memorials can be made to Elvira Zion Lutheran Church, Elvira or to Camp Courageous in Monticello, IA.
