Clinton Herald. 17 Nov 1939, Friday, died Sr. Mary Amata Murphy, at St. Marys Hospital, Kansas City, on the 6th anniversary of the death of her mother, Mrs. James Murphy, Clinton. Mary was a BVM of Mt. Carmel, Dubuque. She taught in parish schools in Burlington, Waukoma, DeKalb, Ill., and Washington, Iowa. She taught high school subjects in Kansas City. Has heart attack two weeks ago. Survivors: Winifred, Lucie, J.J. and T.V., all of Clinton.
