Marion Munson

Marion H. Munson, 92, of Clinton, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at The Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton.

A celebration of life and sharing of memories service will be 6:00 pm, Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Visitation will be 4:00 pm until the service hour at the funeral home.

Marion Henrietta Wilson was born November 14, 1917 in Clinton County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Rena (Housenga) Wilson. She married Albert (Obbie) Munson on January 15, 1940. He died December 1972.

She was a homemaker and caregiver.

Marion was a member of the First Congregational Church in Clinton. She also enjoyed traveling, reading and needlework, having made over 40 Christmas stockings for family and friends and held a special place in her heart for her dog Holly.

She is survived by one son: Gary S. Munson of Fulton, Illinois; one daughter: Judy (Jack) Phillips of Clinton; four grandchildren: Gary Munson Jr. of Fulton, Kaylyn (Jeffrey) Dickinson of Clinton, Michael (Dana) Phillips of Camanche, and Troy Phillips of Telluride, Colorado; and eight great grandchildren: Jordan Phillips, Alexis Dickinson, Erin Dickinson, Zachary Phillips, Kylie Phillips, Mackenna Munson, Matthew Munson and Annelise Dickinson.

She was a devoted and loving caregiver to Kelly Westphal; Melissa, Nolan and Evan Voss; and Matt and Sean Mulholland.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson David Munson, three brothers John, George and Robert Wilson, and daughter-in-law, Kay Munson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or the Alverno.
