Clinton, Iowa - Marlin F. “Red” Garien age 61 of Clinton, died Wednesday May 26, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday May 29th at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Visitation will be held Friday 4 – 7 pm at
the funeral home. Following the funeral service, a luncheon will be served at the Two Hills Restaurant, Clinton. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello, IA. Casket bearers will be Mike Hartman, Larry Stauffer Sr., Jeff Jutte, John Larson, Dean Santucci, and Jon Cantrell.

Red was born on Dec. 29, 1948 in Monticello, IA, the son of Robert and Helen (Robinson) Garien. He married Suzanne McKinzie on June 20, 1998 in Clinton. Red worked at Chicago Northwestern Railroad in the car shops for over 18 years and worked maintenance at Walmart in Clinton. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.

Red is survived by his wife, Suzanne of Clinton; a son, Christopher (Beth) Garien of Savanna, IL; a stepson, Steven Elgin Jr. of Coleta, IL; his daughter, Trisha Cason of Davenport; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Elgin of Coleta, IL; his mother, Helen Garien of Cedar Rapids, IA; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Jessica, Breanna, Madison, Andrew, Autum, Ashlynn, and Chris Jr.; two brothers, Robert (Jan) Garien of Marion, IA and Allen Garien of Rockford, IL.
