Clinton - Loretta J. “Jeani” Chism age 63 of Clinton died Friday, April 30, 2010 at
Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. There will be no visitation or services. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Jeani was born on December 15, 1946 in Albany, CA, the daughter of Zelmo and Margaret Jordan Chism. She graduated from Selma High School in 1965. Jeani worked as a beautician for several years while in California. She owned and operated Jeani’s Groom Room in Clinton before she retired due to health issues. Jeani was an advocate for animal birth control. As a creative person she enjoyed arts and crafts and gardening. She truly enjoyed the Christmas season and was very patriotic.

Jeani is survived by her soul mate of 17 years, Paul Hepker, with whom she shared her home; two daughters, Regina (Matthew) Hickey and their daughter, Sierra of San Jose, CA and Kim (Joey Hlavenka) Smith and her sons, Kyle, Josh and Cody; her father, Zelmo Chism of Roseville, CA; her brother, Jon (Cecilia) Chism of Roseville; a brother-in-law, Lee Turner of Garden Valley, Ca and four nephews, Justin and Colby Turner and Warren and Brandon Chism. Jeani was preceded in death by her mother and a sister Suzanne Turner. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
