Helen A. Swanson, 83, of Clinton, died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday, April 19, 2010 at Chancy Lutheran Church in Clinton. Visitation will be from 2-5:00 pm Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Helen Anna Mohr was born on May 21, 1926 in Clinton, the daughter of Otto and Elsie (Hansen) Mohr. She was a graduate of Clinton High School and Clinton Community College. She married Robert F. Swanson on February 14, 1946; he died on November 19, 2002.

She had been employed as an RN with Jane Lamb Hospital and Samaritan Health System for 18 years, retiring in 1991.

She was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church and the Women of the Moose.

She is survived by one son: Robert J. Swanson of Clinton; one daughter: Dorothy A. (Gary) Johnson of Clinton; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers: Kenneth (Carol) Jensen of Clinton and Ralph Trobiani of The Lakes, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Lorraine Trobiani.

Memorials may be made to Chancy Lutheran Church or a Charity of Choice.
