Barbara Jo Peters, 51, of Clinton, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010, in her home.

The funeral service will be held Friday, April 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Church, Clinton, Iowa.

Father Tony Herold will be officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes, North chapel, 2304 North 2nd Street.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa.

Barbara was born December 7, 1958, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Helen (Driscoll) Leonard. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1977. She then graduated from Clinton Community College with a RN nursing degree.

She married Joseph Peters on May 5, 1984, in Clinton, Iowa. Barbara work as an ICU nurse for the Mercy Medical Center.

Barbara was a member of Prince of Peace, the Prince of Peace Ladies Auxillary, and a Euchiarist Minister for the Prince of Peace, the Befriender Program for Prince of Peace, Ladies Funeral Luncheon team and the Prince of Peace Bible Study Group. She enjoyed reading and watching family sports.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Amy Jo Peters and Meghan Peters, both of Clinton; 2 sons, BJ (Carey) Supple of Des Moines, IA. and Andrew Peters of Clinton; 1 grandson, Charlie of Des Moines; 4 sisters, Mary (Peter) Kaup, Clinton; Marcia Leonard, Clinton; Helen (Mark) Peters, Clinton; and Jill (Brian) Lemke of Clinton; 4 brothers, David (Mary) Leonard, Ottumwa, IA; Gene Leonard, Reno, Nevada; John (Trude) Leonard, St. Louis, MO.; Dan (Carla) Leonard, Clinton; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
