CLINTON — CLINTON — James J. Henricksen, 85, formerly of Clinton, IA, passed away March 30, 2010, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born October 20, 1924, in Clinton to Charles and Alice (Doyle) Henricksen, Jim attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, St. Patrick’s High School and St. Ambrose University in IA.

He was an electrician’s mate 1/c in the U.S. Navy having served on the USS Cachalot and the USS Toro submarines. He married Helen Creighton in 1951 until her death in October of 1968. Later, Jim married Mary Florence Warnock on June of 1975 until her death on August of 1999. Jim retired from DuPont Company after 34 years and was a longtime member of the Lion’s Club and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Scottsdale.

Jim will be greatly missed by his three daughters, Debra (Robert) Rist of Chico, CA, Mary Henricksen of Scottsdale, Dr. Leigh Ann (Dr. David Chafin) Henricksen of Tucson, AZ; one son, Carey Henricksen of Florence, SC; sister, Helen Parson of Clinton, IA; brother, Mgsr. Francis Henricksen of Tipton, IA; four grandchildren, Colin, Keegan, and Kieran Chafin and Kathleen Rist; in-laws, Phillip and Therese O’Connor and their children, Dr. John (Joanne) O’Connor, Molly (Todd) Holzer, Maggie (Chris) Zinke, Katie (James) DuMars, Mike O’Connor and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Jim’s sisters Loretta Smith and Virginia Stella preceded him in death.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial Mass at 12:00 noon Saturday, April 10th, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 7655 E. Main Street, Scottsdale, AZ. At a future date to be announced, a memorial Mass will be celebrated in Clinton, IA, followed by a graveside service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church building fund or charity of choice.
