CLINTON — Evelyn E. Brondyke, 88, of Prairie Hills of Clinton, Clinton, IA, and formerly of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Prairie Hills of Clinton.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Lott, pastor of First Baptist Church, Clinton, IA, and Rev. Edie Lenz, pastor of First Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL.

Memorials may be made to Prairie Hills of Clinton, Clinton, IA.

She was born March 5, 1922, in Fenton Township, IL, to Edward G. and Anna (Huizenga) Hein.

She was educated in the Fulton grade schools and graduated from Fulton High School.

She married Albert J. Brondyke on April 18, 1941, in Fulton, IL; he died April 20, 2003.

Evelyn was employed by the Clinton Garment Factory. Then she worked at Deckers Grocery Store, Fulton, IL, and Bud’s Foodliner. Evelyn worked at her mother’s restaurant, A&H Tea Room as a waitress. She also was employed by Fidelity Life Insurance Company in Fulton, IL. She also was a receptionist for Dr. Wiegandt and was employed by the Fulton Journal.

She was a member of First Reformed Church where she taught Sunday school and Catechism, was a Bethel Bible study series teacher and participated in Helping Hand, King’s Daughters and Missionary Society. She was a member of the Lay Witness Mission. Most recently, Evelyn has been attending the First Baptist Church in Clinton, IA. She enjoyed sewing, making numerous Dutch costumes and hats, crocheting and was an avid reader.

Survivors include one daughter, Rita (Larry) Zeeryp of Fulton, IL; one son, Arnold R. “Arnie” (Pam) Brondyke of Preston, IA; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert.
