Thomson, Ill. — THOMSON, Ill. — Alvin “Alvie” E. Glazier, 62, of Thomson, IL, passed away Friday, March 26, 2010, at his home.

Alvie was born September 11, 1947, the son of Kenneth Edwin Glazier and Pauline Marie Massey in Moline, IL. He graduated from Fulton High School, IL, in 1965. Alvie was employed for 33 years by Case-IH in East Moline, IL, retiring at the age of 50 in 1998.

Alvie married Janet E. Zielinski of Clinton, IA, on October 3, 1970, in Clinton and they raised two sons, Scott Alan and Travis James in Argo Fay and Thomson, IL, with the last 25 years spent in the Riverview area. Alvie was a member of the Second Reformed Church, Fulton, IL. He enjoyed the simple things in life, Janet’s love and friendship, the proud father of two wonderful sons and grandfather of three amazing grandsons, gardening and the company of family and good friends. Alvie left this mortal world content that he had lived his life to the fullest and left his legacy with his sons and grandsons.

Survivors include his wife, Janet (Zielinski) Glazier of Thomson, IL; sons, Scott (wife, April) Glazier of Thomson, IL, and Travis (wife, Trisha) Glazier of Fulton, IL; grandsons, Mitchell, Cameron and Brody Glazier; and brothers and sisters, Richard (wife, Nancy) Glazier of Morrison, IL, Karen (husband, William) Shrum of Cordova, IL, Les (wife, Marge) Glazier of Erie, IL, and Donna (husband, Richard) Jones of Prophetstown, IL.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 10th Avenue, Fulton, IL. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Second Reformed Church, 703 14th Avenue, Fulton, IL, with burial immediately following at Lower York Cemetery, Thomson, IL. A luncheon will be served at the Second Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, immediately upon the return from the burial service. A memorial has been established by the family.
