Quad City Times Dorothy Carey 08/17/1999 CLINTON, Iowa -- Dorothy F. "Dode" Carey died Saturday, Aug. 14, at Mercy Health Center, Clinton. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home, Clinton. The family will have private services on Wednesday. Mrs. Carey appraised antiques for many years and was a partner in DOE Estate Sales. Dorothy Foley was born Aug. 29, 1915, in Evanston, Ill. She married Henry Dalton in 1940. He was killed in World War II. She married Dr. Edward T. Carey in 1946. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Chris and Coco, both of Denver; a son, James D., Clinton; and three grandchildren.

The Clinton Herald Dorothy F. Carey died Saturday in Mercy Health Center. A private family service will be Wednesday. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. She was born Aug. 29, 1915, in Evanston, Ill., to James S. and Hazel K. Foley. She married Henry W. Dalton in 1940. He was killed in World War II. She later married Edward T. Carey in 1946. She attended the Marywood School for Girls and the University of Illinois. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Agatha Circle Auxiliary, Clinton Medical Auxiliary and the Clinton Art Association. She was past president of Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and founder of Mercy Hospital Penny Pinchers. For many years she appraised antiques and was a partner with DOE Estate Sales. Survivors include her husband; a son, James D. of Clinton; and two daughters, Chris and Coco, both of Denver, Colo.; and three grandchildren. Death Date: Aug. 14, 1999.
