The Clinton Herald Friday December 3, 1999 p. 9 Margaret Clausen, 92, of Harlan, died Thursday in Elm Crest Retirement Community. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Nelson Funeral Home in Clinton. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home, Harland, where an 8 p.m. prayer service will be conducted. Visitation also will be from 11 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be member of her family. She was born May 23, 1907, in Klein Bennebek, Germany, to Claus and Catherine Frahm Ehlers. She grew up on a acerage in Germany. She came to the United States in 1926 when she was 18 and lived in Chicago for several years. She later moved to Grand Mound in 1936, to Maquoketa in 1966 and to Harlan in 1991. She was active in her church while in Clinton. Survivors include a daughter, Marion Cornilsen of Harlan; a son, Martin J. Jannsen of Sussex, Wis.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Wagner of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three husbands, a sister and seven brothers. Death date: Dec. 2, 1999.
