CLINTON — Marvin F. Mussmann, age 75, of Clinton, died Saturday, February 20, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23rd, at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Casket bearers will be his grandsons, Matt and Stephen Ugarph, Spenser Mussmann, Seth Hinrichs and his nephews Arnold Mussmann, Jr. and Josh Mussmann. Marvin was born on the family farm north of Spragueville, Iowa, on April 26, 1934, the son of Harold and Adala Schmidt Mussmann. He attended school in Bryant. Marv served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Marvin married Edith Louise Kales on October 7, 1955, in Clinton. Edith died in 1992. Marv was employed with Clinton Corn Processing Company for over 23 years. He later worked at Central Steel for six years. Marv enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids. He enjoyed gardening and following the Cubs, Bears and Hawkeyes. He was an avid walker who walked the bike path everyday for the last 25 years. Marvin is survived by four children, Mike Mussmann, John Mussmann, Cindy (Tom) Ugarph and Pam (Jim Vilmont) Mussmann all of Clinton; eight grandchildren, Nickki, Matt, Lindsay, Stephen, Spenser, Katelyn, Erica and Seth; a great-grandson, Dominic; seven sisters, Lois McClusky of Clinton, Frieda Lundin of Miles, Mary Ellen (Dave) Seeser of Clinton, Judith (Norm) Pease of Sabula, Donna Jean Durkop of Monmouth, IA, Beverly (James) Galloway of Low Moor and Jane (John) Van Horn of Clinton; three brothers, Fritz (Sharon) Mussmann of Bryant, Thomas Mussmann of Clinton and Robert Mussmann of Low Moor. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and three brothers, Leighton, Arnold Sr. and James. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com. Death date: Feb. 20, 2010#
