CLINTON — James F. Murphy, age 67, of Clinton died Friday, February 26, 2010 at his home.Visitation and a time of remembrance will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 1st, at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Cremation rites will follow. Jim was born in Davenport, Iowa on January 7, 1943, the son of James F. and Evelyn A. Wellendorf Murphy, Sr. He graduated from Davenport High School. He served with the Iowa National Guard. Jim married Joyce DeGrande on December 2, 1961 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Davenport. Jim owned and operated his own construction company. He was a member of the Clinton Bowling Association and a former member of the Arrowhead Hunting Club.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding snow mobiles and trap shooting. Jim was an avid bowler who bowled in several leagues and had reached perfection with a 300 game. He was a NASCAR and Chicago Bear fan. Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce; four sons, Guy (Susan) Murphy, Scott (Wendy) Murphy, Patrick (Cara) Murphy and Dan Murphy, all of Clinton; nine grandchildren, Brooke, Megan, Miranda, Kyle, Michelle, Danielle, Caragan, Emily and Patrick; a sister, Carol (Jack) Lueth of Davenport; two nephews, Sean and Dale Lueth; and his special companions Killer and Pixie.
