SABULA — Roger H. Bratthauer, age 73, of Sabula, IA, died Friday Oct. 9, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13th, at New Hope Assembly of God Church in Savanna, IL. Visitation will be held Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton, IA. Burial will be held at Miles City Cemetery in Miles, IA. Casketbearers will be Tyler and Troy Shannon, Mike and Scott Bratthauer, Brian Miller and Mark Bormann. Roger was born on June 12, 1936, in Goose Lake, IA, the son of Lloyd and Gladys (Keithley) Bratthauer. He graduated from Goose Lake High School in 1955. Roger served with the Iowa National Guard for nine years. He married Ruby Ingwersen on Jan. 25, 1959, in Preston, IA. Roger farmed near Sabula for more than 30 years, where he enjoyed baling hay. He was a member of the New Hope Assembly of God Church in Savanna. He enjoyed visiting with his many friends and family. Roger is survived by his wife, Ruby, of Sabula; his three children, Randy Bratthauer of Miles, IA, Renee (Todd) Shannon of Miles, IA, and Rodney (Amanda) Bratthauer of Dewitt, IA; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Tyler, Troy, Amanda, Mike, Trista, Jacob and Lucas; two great-grandchildren, Arian and Bryson; and a sister, Darla (Arnold) Bormann of Preston.
