MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. — Annabell M. Haas, age 76, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Sunday, September 20, 2009, at her home in Mt. Carroll.Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church. Cremation rites will follow visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, also at the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mark Harkness officiating. Inurement will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carroll. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church. Condolences and tributes may be sent to the family at www.lawjonesfuneralhome.com.Annabell was born on June 30, 1933, in Grand Mound, Iowa, the daughter of August and Alice (Schrader) Kunde. She graduated from Maquoketa High School with the Class of 1951. Annabell married Warren Haas on February 2, 1955, in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2006. Annabell and Warren farmed in the Massbach, Illinois, area for most of their lives. Annabell was also a tax preparer for H and R Block in Stockton, Illinois, for over 20 years. She then started her own tax preparation business from her home. Annabell was a member of the Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church, where she was currently the Church's Treasurer and Head of the Luncheon Committee. Annabell was also part of the former bell choir at the church. She was a member of the Four C's, the Carroll County Couple's Club, numerous card clubs, and the Palisades Art League. Annabell was an accomplished painter, receiving the Allen St. George Award. She enjoyed walking and going to Curves, as it was important to her to exercise and stay active. Annabell is survived by three daughters, Kay Dauphin of Savanna, Illinois, Linda England of Naperville, Illinois, and Debra (Todd) Freeland of Poplar Grove, Illinois; three sisters, Lulubell (Merwin) Koch of Maquoketa, Iowa, Bonnabell (Lowell) Creger of Baldwin, Iowa, and Edna Mae McDonald of Maquoketa, Iowa; one brother, Earl (Dolly) Kunde of Baldwin; eight grandchildren, Robert (Dami) Dauphin, Douglas (Amy) Dauphin, Reece England, Warren England, Daniel England, Icle Freeland, Sidney Freeland, and Clay Freeland; three great-grandchildren, Macey, Amelia, and Josslynn Dauphin; as well as many nieces and nephews.Annabell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, four brothers, a granddaughter, Laura Dauphin; and a son-in-law, Allen England.Death date: Sept. 20, 2009
