De Jong, Cora "Corkie" View/Sign Guest Book

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — Cora "Corkie" De Jong, age 86, of Grand Haven and formerly of Pella, IA, and Fulton, IL, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at a local care facility. She was born to Martin and Winnie Housenga Dyke on April 13, 1923, in Fulton, IL. Cora married Charles E. De Jong on October 25, 1945, in Fulton, IL. He passed away on November 25, 1988. Cora moved to Grand Haven 12 years ago from Morrison, IL. She attended Christ Community Church and volunteered at International Aid. She was an avid knitter. Cora is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Rod) Van Abbema of Grand Haven, Candace (Tom) Reese of Miami, FL, and Cynthia (Tom) Schollenbruch of Decatur, IL; son, Craig (Laura) De Jong of Liberty, MO; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.A memorial service for Cora will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, Illinois, on Saturday, October 24. Memorial contributions may be given to the Christ Community Church Endowment Fund, 225 E. Exchange St., Spring Lake, MI 49456-2097 or Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
