CHARLOTTE — Ronald R. Blount, 74, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, September 11, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Monday, September 14, 2009, at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel. Pastor Ryan Carpenter, with Calvary Baptist Church, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, September 13, 2009, at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron and Brian Von Thun, Kevin and Kristopher Blount, Josias Santos, and Aaron Steinman. Memorials can be made to the family. Ronald was born July 13, 1935, in Clinton to Howard and Doris (Handy) Blount. Ron graduated from Clinton High School in 1954. Ron worked for Clinton Foods, Clinton Bridge Works and White Engineering in Pennsylvania. Ron was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, AMVETS, Elks Club in Pennsylvania, He truly enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, yard work and decorating for Christmas. Survivors include his loving wife, Bernice, of Charlotte, 2 daughters, LouAnn Driscoll, of DeWitt, Christina Blount, of Charlotte, 3 sons, Ronnie Blount of Charlotte, Kevin (Kimberly) Blount, of Long Grove, Iowa, Tracy (Patricia) Blount, of Savanna, Ill., 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 sister Doris (Jack) Lovell of Clinton.
