CLINTON — Clarence R. Klare, 80, of Clinton, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus in Clinton. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private memorial service will take place at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.Clarence Richard Klare was born on December 15, 1928, on Beaver Island, the son of Clarence and Rose (Ohrt) Klare. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. He married Lois Mae Maw on August 5, 1950, in Clinton; she died on May 24, 2004. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed with E.I. DuPont for over 30 years until retiring in 1985.He is survived by 4 daughters, Victoria Murphy, Barbara (Jim) Cook, Elizabeth (Jerry) Peltier, all of Clinton and Susan Norem of Port Byron, IL; 3 sons, Bruce Klare of Clinton, Tom Klare of Camanche and Mark (Julie) Klare of Mobile, AL; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one sister, Lavonne Mann of Clinton, and one brother, Robert (Artis) Klare of St. Joseph, MO.Online condolences may be left by visiting www.snellzornig.com.Death date: June 11, 2009
