CLINTON — Jacob A. "Jake" Kilburg, age 16, of Clinton, died Sunday June 14, 2009, outside Clinton from injuries suffered from an auto accident. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Spencer Tracy, Ryan Wynn, Josh Gabel, Brandon Clark, Travon Patterson and Ryan Bolton. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Bishop, Josh Morris and Travis Steele. Jake was born on June 24, 1992, in Clinton, IA, the son of Jeffrey and Joanne (Thayer) Kilburg. Jake attended Lincoln High School and was in the 11th grade. He intended to enlist in the U.S. Army after graduation. Jake was an athletic and active person. He enjoyed skate boarding, being sponsored by Wise Guys of Clinton. He enjoyed camping, hanging out with his friends, spending time with family, especially with his nephews, Jason and Devon. He loved his cat and two dogs. Jake is survived by his mother, Joanne Kilburg of Clinton; his father, Jeff (Amanda) Kilburg of Clinton; an 11-month-old son, Briar Allen Kilburg of LaPorte, IN; a sister, Hollie (Chris) Huling of Clinton; two brothers, Kyle and Chance Kilburg of Clinton; his grandparents, Wayne and Kathy Kilburg of Clinton; a great-grandmother, Denise Bunce of Clinton; several aunts and uncles; and his two nephews, Jason and Devon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard (1991) and Mary (1999) Thayer, great-grandparents, Ed (2001) and Marie (1987) Kilburg.
