LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. — Lynn E. Valet, age 61, of Lee's Summit, Mo., died Friday, May 15, 2009, at The Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo., after a five-year battle with lung cancer.Visitation and funeral services were held Monday, May 18, 2009, at the Langsford Funeral Home, Lee's Summit. According to Lynn's wishes, her body was cremated. Lynn was born December 30, 1947, the daughter of Edwin and Mary Emrick, in Wilmington, DE. She was a graduate of Mt. St. Clare Academy and the Gradwohl School of Medical Technology in St. Louis, MO. She and Gerald Valet were united in marriage August 22, 1970, in Mexico, MO. Survivors include Gerald; one son, Brian (Jody) and one daughter, Becky Valet; her mother of Clinton; two sisters, Susan Batista, Omaha, NE, Carol (Jeff) Ebinger, Iowa City; and two brothers, James (Julie) of Belleville, W.Va., and Allen (Kathy), Washington, W.Va.Lynn was preceded in death by her grandparents, father and a cousin.Death date: May 15, 2009
