CLINTON — Robert I. "Bob" Tracy, age 83, of Clinton, Iowa, and formerly of Lost Nation, Iowa, died on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Mercy Living Center South in Clinton, Iowa. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, from the Carson and Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, from the Carson and Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa. Robert Ira "Bob" Tracy was born on April 21, 1926, in Jackson County, Iowa, to Oscar Allen Tracy and Sophia Effie (Green) Tracy. He was educated in Jackson County country schools. He married Mary Ann Wood on June 22, 1947, in Lost Nation, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 4, 1998. Bob and his wife, Mary Ann, had farmed in the Lost Nation area for many years, moving to Clinton in 1968, where they continued farming. They also owned and operated Tracy Ceramics for over 25 years, retiring in 1978. Bob was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of the Clinton County Horsemen's Association. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing, playing cards and going to auctions. He had many interests but his first love was his family. Agriculture was an important part of Bob's life too, as he loved the earth and ground. Bob is survived by children, Linda (Robert) Troutman of Clinton, IA, Robert Allen Tracy of Clinton, IA, and Brenda (Jeff) Buikema of Clinton, IA; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hilda Jepsen of Maquoketa, IA, and Marcella Grimm of Laurie, MO; a loving companion, Cheryl Miller of Clinton, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; 2 sisters, Ruth and Darlene; a son, Carson Joe; and a daughter, Barbra Ann. A Robert Ira "Bob" Tracy Memorial Fund has been established.Death date: May 21, 2009
