The Clinton Herald Saturday September 25, 1971 p. 10 Mrs. Nicolene Stuedemann, 73, of DeWitt, died Friday in DeWitt Community Hospital. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the DeWitt Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Thomas Spahn officiating. Burial will be after 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the McGinnis Funeral Home DeWitt. Pallbearers will include Elmer Stuedemann, Edwin Soenksen, Ernest Soenksen, Sylvester Knutsen and Alfred Hansen. Mrs. Stuedemann was born Feb. 28, 1898 near Charlotte, the daughter of Nicholas and Pauline Petersen Jensen. She married Emil Stuedemann April 18, 1934 in Rock Island. The couple had farmed near DeWitt for a number of years and Mrs. Stuedemann lived in DeWitt for the past 7 years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Ruth) Huebbe of Grand Mound; a step-daughter, Mrs. Lewis (Dorothy) Rathje of Clinton; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Arthur Johnson of Sterling, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.
