The Clinton Herald Tuesday December 23, 1969 p. 10 Emil Stuedemann, 86, of DeWitt, died Monday at his home. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt with the Rev. Wenzel Tolson officiating. Burial will be in the Center Grove cemetery, north of Elvira. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today in the McGinnis funeral home. Mr. Stuedemann was born on Dec. 6, 1883 north of DeWitt to Rudolph and Dora Claussen Stuedemann. He married Henrietta Mohr on Feb. 2, 1910 in Manning. She died and he married Nicoline Gradert on April 18, 1934 in Rock Island. He had farmed most of his life in Clinton County and was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church. Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Dorothy) Rathje of Clinton and Mrs. Duane (Ruth) Huebbe of Grand Mound; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Dick of Flandreau, S.D., and a sister, Mrs. Helen Mulling of Los Angeles, Calif. He was preceded in death by his first wife, two brothers and two sisters.
