The Clinton Herald Wednesday May 12, 1926 p 8 Herman Roeder, a well known and highly respected resident of this community passed away this morning at 11:30 o'clock at his home, 1230 Thirteenth avenue, after an illness of several months duration. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, obituary will be published tomorrow.

The Clinton Herald Thursday May 13, 1926 p 8 The funeral of Herman Roeder who passed away Wednesday at his home 1230 North Eighth street, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the W.J. Shadduck chapel. The body will be taken to the chapel at 10 o'clock Friday morning. The Rev. A.H. Hein of the Zion Lutheran church of Clinton, will officiate. Interment will be in Oakland cemetery. Herman Roeder was born in Holle, Sachen, September 21, 1852. He came to America with his parents when he was three years of age. They settled near Lyons and the family has always lived in this vicinity. Fifty years ago Mr. Roeder was united in marriage to Wilhelmina Speck. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary August 15, 1925. Besides his wife, he is survived by five children: Mrs. Barney Jacobsen, Louis Roeder, Mrs. Julius Rathje and Charles Rathje of this city, and Mrs. John Keil of Fulton.
