CLINTON — Gerardo De LaRosa Jimenez, 80, of Clinton, IA, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009, at his home. Visitation will be held from 8 to 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Ray Gimenez officiating at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel. Gerardo De LaRosa Jimenez was born on September 24, 1928, in Las Villas, Cuba, the son of Luis and Rosa Jimenez. He married Nery Delgado on August 12, 1950, in Las Villas, Cuba. Gerardo was self employed owning a furniture store in Miami, FL. He loved to play Dominos and played this game at his grandson's shop, Espresso Cigars and More. Playing baseball was another favorite pastime of his. Surviving him are his wife, Nery, of Clinton, IA; a daughter, Regina Jimenez of Clinton, IA; three grandsons, Carlos (Alicia) Lloret of Clinton, IA, Christopher Lloret of Clinton, IA, and Andrew Lloret of Clinton, IA; one great-grandson, Logan Thomas Lloret of Clinton, IA; two sisters, Maria (El Rubio) of Cuba and Leo (Pujals) of Cuba; three brothers, Luis (Sorangel) Jimenez of Cuba, Nico (Gladys) Jimenez of Miami, FL, and Luis (Angela) Jimenez of Cuba; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, one daughter, one sister, Olga, and one brother, José. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to The Victory Center.
